The Vietnamese major was established in 2007 and admits one class each year, implementing small-class teaching. In 2019, it was approved to recruit master's students in Vietnamese Translation. In 2020, it was selected as a National Level First-Class Undergraduate Program. In the 2024, it ranked 7th in the Shanghai Ranking's National Ranking of Academic Subjects. The program currently has 7 teachers, including 1 professor, 1 associate professor, and 2 foreign teachers. Professor Qi Guangmou of this program was appointed in 2023 as a member of the Certification Expert Committee of Chinese-Vietnamese CATTI by the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration.

Educational Objectives: This program aims to cultivate innovative Vietnamese language talents who love their country, possess an international perspective, are familiar with international rules, master knowledge related to the Vietnamese language, literature, and culture, and have proficiency in Vietnamese and English language use as well as cross-cultural skills.

 Main Courses: Basic Vietnamese, Spoken Vietnamese, Vietnamese Listening, Vietnamese Writing, Vietnamese Viewing, Listening and Speaking, Vietnamese History and Culture, Vietnamese Interpreting, Vietnamese Translation, History of Vietnamese Literature, Business Vietnamese, Tourism Vietnamese, etc.

Educational  Features: The program adopts a "3.5 + 0.5" model, which means three and a half years of domestic study and half a year of study abroad. In their third year, students study abroad at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi. Since the establishment of the Vietnamese program, it has clearly aimed at cultivating high-quality Vietnamese language talents with a focus on Guangxi, ASEAN, and nationwide service, producing not only skilled Vietnamese language professionals but also versatile "Vietnamese + " talents.

Employment Prospects: The employment rate of graduates from this program is consistently stable at 100%. Graduates are mainly employed in national agencies, enterprises, and institutions, including Fortune 500 companies and well-known enterprises. Employment areas are diverse, including foreign affairs, education, scientific research, trade, banking, judicial, cultural fields, and some students continue their studies at well-known universities in China after graduation.
